Podcast Episode 06 – Nigel Mattison – Filmmakers Feedback

Share this:

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! There’s no better holidays activity than enjoy a brand new episode of your favourite podcast. So, sit back, relax and let me introduce this episode’s guest:

He has worked on amazing films such as Kingsman and the Golden Circle and Rocketman. Today with us is film producer Nigel Mattison.

Nigel and I will talk about about the importance of themes and thematic development, and what devices he uses to review music he receives from composers.

Nigel previously shared with us a scripted scene and asked our audience to send music written specifically for it. During the recording of the episode we listened to music submitted by composers Julia Lesnichy and Romain Quessaud. This segment gives you an opportunity to learn how a filmmaker reacts to listening to submitted music for the first time.

Everything mentioned above is just the tip of the iceberg. Make sure you check the whole episode out to get plenty of useful tips! You can do so in 3 ways:

  1. by listening to the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts and all the other major platforms.
  2. by watching the video version of the show on YouTube.
  3. by playing it from this page directly, audio and video embeds below.

Make sure you submit your music for the upcoming episodes and ask our next guests your questions using the “SEND VOICE MESSAGE” button on Anchor.

Lastly I have a favour to ask: this is a very young podcast and it needs your help to reach a large audience. Please subscribe and share this page or direct links to the episodes with your friends and colleagues and help me spread the word! Thanks ❤️

Next episode coming up in January 2020…

    Another great episode!
A big thanks to Nigel and Giovanni for touching such a wide subject, but in very few minutes gives us an insight of what are the expectations in the film industry out there and the importance of the script as a main building block for music composers.
