Podcast Episode 01 – A. Bodin Saphir – Filmmakers Feedback
I am very excited to finally present the first episode of Film Scoring Tips’ podcast: Filmmakers Feedback. My guest on this episode is a successful film producer, writer and director (Who’s Gonna Love Me Now?, Far), and playwright (Rosenbaum’s Rescue): A. Bodin Saphir.
When listening to the episode you’ll hear whether or not Alexander likes to work with composers capable of writing in many different styles, how he reacts to receiving “cold” emails and what are the sections he focuses on in a composer website.
We also discussed how to put together a composer showreel that captures the attention of filmmakers and helps landing your next dream gig.
Alexander previously shared with us a scripted scene and asked our audience to send music written specifically for it. During the recording of the episode we listened to music submitted by composers Mario Pettenati and Julia Lesnichy. This segment gives you an opportunity to learn how a filmmaker reacts to listening to submitted music for the first time.
Everything mentioned above is just the tip of the iceberg. Make sure you check the whole episode out to get plenty of useful tips! You can do so in 3 ways:
- by listening to the podcast on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Podcasts and all the other major platforms.
- by watching the video version of the show on our Facebook page or on YouTube.
- By playing it from this page directly, audio and video embeds below.
Make sure you submit your music for the upcoming episodes and ask our next guests your questions using the “SEND VOICE MESSAGE” button on Anchor.
Lastly I have a favour to ask: this is a very young podcast and it needs your help to reach a large audience. Please share this page or direct links to the episode with your friends and colleagues and help me spread the word! Thanks ❤️
See you for the next episode in August…
